Edwin Dekker specializes in container terminal operations management, operations improvement programs and project implementation. He has expertise in rationalization of operations processes, operations organizations, and in-depth understanding of terminal operating systems possibilities and limitations. He has been a valuable resource and driver for terminal operating system designs, specifications and implementations and is capable of driving the required changes within the implementation organizations.
Edwin has taken the lead in guiding the management and staff in the port of Gothenburg with the implementation of the new terminal operating system and assisted the terminal management in the change of organizational structure. Additionally he has designed job responsibilities, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and operating strategies together with reviewing and specifying operational requirements for the terminal operating system.
He was responsible for a high performance operation for APM Terminals (APMT) and the daily management of marine, gate, rail, reefer, yard operations and organization.
He has experience in executing container, Roro and Ferry terminal projects, design and implementation of terminal business processes, contract management of suppliers and Terms of Service (TOS) implementations.
